I am first and foremost a father.  My passion for photography started with family and at a young age.  My father, having been a professional photographer since long before I was born, bought me my first film camera for my sixth birthday.  A camera, three rolls of film, and a hand drawn manual on how to compose a shot were enough to get me excited about what photography had to offer.

Years later with the birth of digital photography that excitement returned.  Wanting to do more than just capture well composed snapshots of the people around me, I began to study the technical and artistic qualities of light and shadow.  That excitement became obsession.

I am a photographer because I love every aspect of the art. From the technical complexities of exposure balancing to the ever so subtle changes in the expression on the face of a child that make the difference between a simple photograph, and capturing who they truly are.

Professionally I shoot portraits and weddings but in my personal work I don't limit myself. I feel the more time I spend exploring all avenues of photography the more I will be able to bring to my clients. I explore light wherever it falls and work to bring out its most beautiful characteristics whether it is on a seaside cliff as the sun drifts out of sight or on the face of a child as she smiles at her mother. Seeing light, bending it, or creating it where it is missing is what separates snapshots and art. Capturing those moments, making art, and creating memories for my clients is my passion.

Thank you for taking the time to look over my work.
